Pre-Marital Counseling Services
Pre-Marital and Family Counseling Services
There are a number of individuals and organizations that offer “counseling” to couples who are considering marriage, as well as other family counseling services. Here are just a few in the Chicago area:
Second Story Counseling. They work with couples that are contemplating marriage or other forms of commitment. Their highly customized counseling program addresses all important areas that couples should consider as they contemplate a more formalized commitment. This is not group counseling. Only you, your significant other, and your counselor partake in each of the six sessions towards a happier and healthier relationship. Phone 773-528-1777.
Central DuPage Pastoral Counseling Center, 507-A Thornhill Dr., Carol Stream, IL 60188, phone 630-752-9750.

Evangelical Child and Family Agency, 1530 N. Main Street, Wheaton, IL, 60187, phone 630-653-6400
David Goodman, PhD. Psychologist and associates, 24 Mosedale St., St. Charles, IL 60174, phone 630-377-3535
A good source of family-related information can be obtained from Dr. James Dobson’s “Focus On The Family.”
Patricia Schell Kuhlman & Gregory Kuhlman, PhD conduct “Marriage Success Training” seminars and classes. They also have a lot of good “pre-wedding tips.”

Rev. Kevin Knox of Florida has put together a very nice “At Home Marriage Preparation Course.” It’s 23 pages, and you may download it free here. (The report does require that you have the free “Adobe Acrobat Reader”, available here.)
Although I have two B.A. degrees from Wheaton College, in Biblical Studies (Religion) and Psychology, I prefer to specialize in providing wedding services to couples who wish to get married. There are others who have tremendous insights and abilities in helping people in their personal and family issues. My talent and training is best used in helping people have a wonderful wedding ceremony, once they are ready to make that commitment.
